Over at Douglas Company are new additions to its popular Douglas’ Baby Cuddle Toy lines, a vast collection of coordinating infant and baby products of Sshlumpies, Lil’ Snugglers, Rattles, Bedtime Buddies, Squeakers, and Musicals. The company designed these items so retailers could easily merchandise items as sets perfect for baby showers, new arrivals, and birthdays. “Grouping pieces from the Baby line is easy because everything coordinates,” says Erika Radich of Douglas Company.
Squeakers, featured in the January issue of Giftware News are sweet plush toys with the look of a cookie cut-out look. They are designed to be easily held by little hands and have a squeaker inside. Sshlumpies are 17-inches long and under-stuffed, so they are more blanket-like. Bedtime Buddies are 8.5-inches tall, and perfect for snuggling. Musical Bedtime Buddies are similar, but include musical enhancements. The buddies head moves as the music plays.
The best seller for Douglas, says the company, are Lil’ Snugglers blankets. Each blanket incorporates a 13-inch by 13-inch square of fabric, lined with satin, and a sleepy soft toy animal head with stitched embroidered eyes.
While Douglas emphasizes the luxury of combining products, this idea rings true throughout the industry. There are many companies offering soft and safe plush products perfect for baby & kids.
