Liz Barrere, vice president of marketing and product development for Illume, sees buying patterns for rest of this year being edited and focused with a good balance of affordable price points. “Our modern naturals collection has been outstanding with earth rose, citron basil, and white thyme and pear. Happy colors always work well for us,” she says, adding that small, meaningful luxuries will take over big-ticket purchases in 2009. She also suggests boosting sales by “offer[ing] many choices of items within a fragrance and make a statement. Fragrance loyalty is huge, and [customers] will be back for more.”
