Crossroads Owners Purchase Local Apple Butter & Jelly Factory
Along with several hundred friends and local supporters, brothers Jason and Justin McMullen, owners of Crossroads Original Designs, publicly announced their recent purchase of Cooper’s Mill & Market on Monday, May 6th, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and spring celebration event. Cooper’s Mill is a long-running, popular business within the local community that also serves a growing number of wholesale customers across the U.S.
David and Miriam Cooper began Cooper’s Mill in 1969 alongside their Bucyrus, OH home with just a picnic table and a desire to share their homegrown fruits and vegetables with others. Nearly 45 wonderful years have passed and the Cooper’s tradition continues – only under the new ownership and management of Jason and Justin McMullen. The McMullens say they will continue to produce the same high quality, homemade jams, jellies and apple butter which customers have become accustomed to and love using the same recipes that have been passed down for generations.
The McMullens are excited about this new business venture and plan to introduce Cooper’s Mill products to an expanded customer base very soon. According to President Jason McMullen, “Both Crossroads Original Designs and Cooper’s Mill cater to many of the same clients; therefore, Justin and I felt that the two businesses would make a good fit.” Crossroads is a family–owned and –operated manufacturer of scented candles, reed diffusers, room sprays, framed art, and home décor products that operates out of an 80,000-square-foot facility in Bucyrus, OH, which is just down the road from the Cooper’s Mill facility. Crossroads serves a rapidly growing customer base in the U.S. and Canada, and Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Dave Kuns, expects to see many distributors add the flavorful line of Cooper’s Mill products to their store offerings very soon. “These products are delicious. Many of our retailers are eager to share the ‘simple goodness’ of Cooper’s Mill products with their own customers. We could not be happier about this new opportunity and we look forward to increased sales and growth in the coming year,” stated Kuns.
Cooper’s Mill all-natural products offer customers a “difference you can taste,” explains Vice President Justin McMullen. Cooper’s irresistible apple butter is cooked slowly in 50-gallon copper kettles over a wood fire, and the delicious jams and jellies are made in small batches so that the best flavor and consistency is obtained every time. “We never use any artificial colors, sweeteners, preservatives or corn syrups in any of our products,” adds McMullen. Best of all, Cooper’s Mill products are proudly made in the USA. For more information visit their respective websites: coopers-mill.com andcrossroadscandles.com.
