Craft & Hobby Association(CHA) Winter Convention & Trade Show JAN. 25-28

The 2009 Craft & Hobby Association(CHA) Winter Convention & Trade Show—to be held January 25-28, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California—promises to be the year’s best resource for the hottest craft and hobby products and trends, including new “green” offerings.

As the largest craft and hobby trade show in the world, the CHA Winter Show is the leading global marketplace for the growing craft and hobby industry. The 68th annual Show will feature seven major sections: Scrapbooking & Paper Crafts; Fabric/Quilting/Needlecrafts; Art Materials & Framing; General Crafts; Licensing & Design; International Pavilion and New Exhibitors.

Show Highlights

Two-time Emmy award winner and crafting enthusiast Deborah Norville will be the keynote speaker at the 2009 CHA Winter Convention & Trade Show. In her presentation entitled Turn Your Passion Into Profit! Using the Power of Positive Thinking to Reach Your Goals, Norville will share her lifelong love and passion for crafting and stories of a rich family history that passed on valued skills and crafting traditions to the next generation.  Deborah will also discuss the importance of using gratitude to move closer to achieving personal and professional goals during challenging economic times.

Norville will address the group on Sunday, January 25, from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 pm at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Immediately following the presentation Deborah will be signing books at the Barnes & Noble bookstore at the Convention Center.

With a theme of It’s Easy Being Green: Discover the Possibilities, the 2009 Winter Show will help exhibitors focus on providing innovative, environmentally friendly and sustainable craft products for consumers of this emerging market. The ‘Green’ Show theme was designed to help the industry take some first steps at going green and to capture some of the expanding $208 billion dollar green market.  To date, 56 companies, or 14.5% of exhibitors, have increased their space over 2008, illustrating the interest in this growing product category.

CHA will also offer an extensive educational program, including dozens of hands-on workshops as well as business seminars designed to provide retailers with the insight needed to compete more successfully in the increasingly competitive industry. Educational workshops and seminars begin on January 24 and run throughout the Show.
