230 Fifth Avenue showrooms open during NY Home Textiles Market Week will be showcasing the latest bed and bath fashions, table linens, kitchen linens, window treatments and area rugs, among other products.  230’s quarterly newsletter called, “The Market @ 230 Fifth Avenue”, will be available at the Lobby Registration Desk to keep all buyers, visitors and press members informed and up to date about happenings, events and new showrooms and product lines at the 230 building.

All 2009 NY Home Textiles Market Week and NY Gift Show badge holders are invited to visit the newly opened Museum of Art & Design (MAD), in its new home at 2 Columbus Circle (at 59th Street and Broadway), on Saturday, January 25th from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.  Join New York market participants for this evening viewing or visit at your leisure during market. Admission is free—compliments of 230 Fifth Avenue, NYIGF, 7 West New York and 41 Madison Avenue.

MAD inaugurates its new galleries with Second Lives: Remixing the Ordinary, a special thematic exhibition showcasing 54 artists from around the world who repurpose and transform mass-produced objects into extraordinary works of art; Elegant Armor: The Art of Jewelry featuring over 130 works of modern and contemporary jewelry from 1948 through the present; and Permanently MAD: Revealing the Collection, encompassing approximately 150 works made in clay, glass, metal, wood and mixed media by artists such as Dale Chihuly, Jack Lenor Larson, Wendell Castle, Faith Ringgold, Roy Lichtenstein, George Segal, Cindy Sherman, Woodman and others. The new MAD also features the permanent installation of several works, including a site-specific stained-glass commission by Judith Schaechter, an abstract ceramic wall relief by Ruth Duckworth, and a ceramic mural by Robert Arneson, titled Alice House Wall, on display for the first time in 20 years.  For more information about the Museum of Art & Design, visit www.madmuseum.org.
